John F. Sossamon II is the proud owner of Sossamon Funeral Home and is a licensed funeral director. He is the son of Rev. Frank and Vickie Sossamon formally of Henderson, NC, but who now reside in Oxford, NC.
He attended East Carolina University, Vance Granville Community College and is a graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College’s Funeral Service program. John takes pride on the close relationships he establishes with the families he serves.
John lives in Oxford with his wife Angie and is the proud father of two children, Camryn and Dylan. When away from work, he values time with family and friends, watching sports, and trips to the beach.

Rev. Frank Sossamon is a resident of Oxford, NC, and prior to his move, was a long-time resident of Vance County for nearly 40 years, where he served and is now retired from, as the pastor of the South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church. He has since come out of retirement to serve as the pastor of Hermon Community Church. Pastor Frank proudly served one term from 2022-2024 as the representative of his community of District 32 in the North Carolina House of Representatives.
He was born and raised in Cabarrus County, North Carolina in the small town of Mt. Pleasant. On April 7, 1974, he married the love of his life Vickie Howard Sossamon. They have three boys: Shawn, John, and Matthew Sossamon. Upon arriving in Henderson in 1985 his investment in the community has been numerous with things such as: The Founder and Coordinator of the Maria Parham Health Chaplain Program in 1989, Juvenile Crime Prevention Council Board of Directors, Juvenile Attendance Council, Ministers In Community Partnership, Granville County Crime Stoppers Board President, and several other local, State and Denominational Councils as well. He received an Associate Degree in Mental Health from Western Piedmont Community College, Bachelor Degree in Biblical Studies from East Coast Bible College, Master of Ministry Degree from Southwestern University of Christian Ministries in Church Growth and Church Planting, and Master of Divinity from Houston Graduate School of Theology.
"I look forward to serving Vance, Granville, and the surrounding counties during their time of grief and sorrow providing the highest quality of professional and compassionate care available. My personal goal is to be there when grief comes to help with all the mental, emotional and physical challenges that one faces. This has been a mission of mine long before I arrived in Henderson and has certainly been my ambition while serving this community as pastor of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church and now as a part of Sossamon Funeral Home. Bill Lloyd is a full-time employee with Sossamon Funeral Home. He has been a resident of Henderson, NC his entire life. He is the son of the late Hamlin and Mae Lloyd and is married to the former Rhonda Hope. They have two beautiful children, Jennifer L. Singley and Jeffrey L. Lloyd. They also have seven wonderful grandchildren Maddox, Avery, Parker, Clara, Cate, Caroline, and Casey. He is an active member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church where he formally served as an elder, and currently serves on the administrative council. Bill has been employed at the former Flowers Funeral Home since May of 1994 and looks forward to continue serving the people of Vance and the surrounding counties.

Jonathan Abbott

Jonathan S. Abbott is a full-time employee of Sossamon Funeral Home and is a licensed funeral director. He was born and raised in Oxford, NC, where he still resides. He is the son of Jonathan Keith Abbott (Oxford, NC) and Christie Bryant (Henderson, NC) and the grandson of Keith and Cynthia Abbott (Oxford, NC) and Brenda Zimmerman (Henderson, NC).
He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. For the Lord and his church, Jonathan served a two year mission in the northern Utah area from October of 2022, to October of 2024. Jonathan is well known in the community and local churches as a gospel singer. He is 2018 graduate of J.F. Webb School of Health and Life Sciences, and a graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College's funeral service program.
"With my background rooted in growing up in church and singing gospel music, I have found the funeral home business to be my calling in life because to me, the funeral home industry is a ministry. Having the opportunity to serve the surrounding communities with utmost care and compassion everyday is a job like none other. There is nothing more rewarding to me, than to help families make their uneasy and difficult transition after the loss of a loved one, as easy and comforting as possible."

Jenny Reed

Jenny Reed

Jenny Reed is a full-time employee of Sossamon Funeral Home and is a licensed funeral director. She has many years of experience in the funeral home industry. She brings such a kind, thoughtful and compassionate heart to work with her everyday as she assists families in their tender time of need.
Jenny was born in Columbus, GA, but has lived most of her life in Oxford, NC. She is the daughter of Ron & Kathy Jones.
Jenny still resides in Oxford with her husband “Petey” Reed and is the proud mom to her three sons, Will Reed (Kelsey), Wesley Reed (Jordan), and Walker Reed.
She is a graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College Funeral Service Program. Prior to her becoming a funeral director, she graduated from Vance-Granville Community College with a degree in nursing.
Outside of work, Jenny enjoys spending time with her family.

W.L. Harris is a part-time employee of Sossamon Funeral Home and is a licensed funeral director. He is a life-long resident of of Vance County and is the son of the late Luther and Maggie Harris. W.L.'s funeral home career began back in 1968 under the ownership of Kessler Funeral Home.
W.L. is married to the former Cynthia Williamson. They have one daughter Kelly Harris, one grandson Blake Harris, and a great-granddaughter Ava Harris. He is a member of Harriett Baptist Church. He also has been a member of the Henderson Masonic Lodge since 1982, where he has formally served as the Past-Master and the Past-District Deputy Grand Master. He's also a member of the Amran Temple.

Huey Thomerson is a full-time employee of Sossamon Funeral Home. He has served the surrounding communities for over 20 years in the funeral service industry. He's passionate about caring for families and their loved ones during their time of grief.
Huey is married to Debra Ross Thomerson and they reside in Creedmoor. They have a son, Alan, and daughter Tina (Matt). They also have four cherished grandchildren, Autumn, Kendall, Dalton, and Clint.
Huey is a member of Mary's Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoys traveling, cooking, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Harry Wilkins is a part time associate with Sossaman Funeral Home. He is a lifelong resident of Oxford, NC. He is married to the former Mittie Belle Powell. Together, they have three sons Tee, Powell and Christopher and six grandchildren Madeline, Addison, Mason, Dawson, Mary Helen and Currin.
Harry retired after 50 years in sales and management. He is currently a volunteer with Corinth Volunteer Fire Department. He is a lifelong member of Peace's Chapel Baptist Church. Harry enjoys hunting, fishing, attending Bluegrass Festivals and trips to the beach with family.

Kim Clayton Price is a part-time employee of Sossamon Funeral Home. After several decades of experience working for Revlon in their consumer claims department, she brings excellent skills in customer service that makes her a vital part of the Sossamon team. She looks forward to every time she is able to serve the families that come in with kindness and compassion.
Kim is a native to Granville County where she still resides in Oxford with her husband, Wade Price. She has one daughter, Brenna Price. She also has three step-sons, Michael, Tony, and Justin Price. She is also mother of her sweet little Maltese Bella who she loves very much!

Adam Pulley is a part-time employee of Sossamon Funeral Home. Adam brings over ten years of experience in the funeral industry after working for the former Flowers Funeral Home. Adam looks forward to serving the surrounding communities by helping families transition through this difficult time in their lives. Adam is a native of Vance Co and currently resides in Henderson with his wife Callie Pulley. They have two children , a son Nolan and a daughter Kyndall. Adam is a member of South Henderson PHC where he serves in a variety of different ministries.

Todd Ellington is a part time employee of Sossaman Funeral Home. He is a lifelong resident of Oxford, NC where he is the son of David Ray and the late Shelby Cole Ellington. He married his kindergarten sweetheart Penny Rose Howard in 2002. Together they have 2 sons, Nolan and Colin and their late white boxer, Anheuser.
From a young age, Todd has had a passion for helping others and joined Providence Fire Department at the age of sixteen. Later in life he also joined Granville Rural Fire Department. Todd continues to be very active with both departments. When Todd is not helping others, he is an avid race fan traveling to watch late model stock cars all over the east coast.
Todd is a member of Providence Baptist Church where he grow up and dedicated his life to Christ. Todd is a full time employee of Granville County Schools where he is the Electrical/Electronics Supervisor. Todd looks forward to serving and helping the families of love ones as they transition through difficult times in life.

Hubert Cox

Hubert Cox is a part-time employee of Sossamon Funeral Home. He has worked in the funeral home industry for over two decades. In his full-time career, Hubert served on the North Carolina State Highway Patrol for nearly 15 years. He also worked within the tobacco market industry.
Hubert has three children; Hubert L. Cox III (Wilson, NC), Linda Carol Hughes (Oxford, NC); and Charles “Charlie” Cox (Oxford, NC). With his three children, he has been blessed with six granddaughters, three grandsons, and two step-grandsons.
Hubert is a member of Delrayno Baptist Church as well as South Henderson Church of God. He enjoys his time going to the lake with his family. He also enjoys sports cars and Harley Davidson Motorcycles.
